Off Education Vis a Vis Separation
I hate it when people create boundaries between the learned and the illiterate. I hate it when people mock others due to lack of intellect. I hate it when bigots act as if they are fucking great. I cringe whenever pseudo intellectuals attempt to elevate their status by criticizing the ignorance of others. The privileged ones should never separate themselves among the unfortunate ones, but rather...

Rave Party!
The preparation for this night was utterly exhausting! I even stayed until 1am in the office and I have to go to work at 8am on the same day. FML. We were in front because we won the dance competition that night! Lol. It was difficult juggling work and dance practices, you know. I even had to perform that night barely knowing the steps. LOL. Projection na lang diba! HAHAHA. Irritated look...

My first week at my first job was definitely fun! I experienced attending the first dealer convention at NBC Tent Global even though I am just a newbie. I even started working earlier than I expected because they were shooting the company’s MTV that they and they included me. Lol. I was not even prepared to work yet! @ the office My lunch buddy! :) Yeeehaw! Wild wild west theme....

Filipino films: they don’t make us think →
Welcome to mainstream culture.  The problem with this article is that it fails to include the entirety of Filipino films. It only discusses those mainstream movies which sell most in the market. And what do you honestly expect with those kind of films? They are like New York’s Best Seller Books, not the greatest books ever made but they can easily be understood by all kinds of people and...

Goodbye 2011
I fell in love with coming of age stories like NVM Gonzales’ The Bread of Salt, J.D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye, Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre, James Joyce’s Araby, F Sionil Jose’s Tree etc. I am thrilled of seeing how young protagonists face the hostility of life and have their epiphanies at the end. The finales of these stories are mostly embittered…...

On Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life
Before my opinion about this movie, I would just like to greet you guys, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Kind of late though, but carry on. Do not also forget to, Let’s celebrate this festive season! Lol. So now, regarding the film… It is a stunning experimental film which won The Cannes Film Festival 2011’s Palm d’Or written and directed by Malick. The rich...

On Julia Leigh's Sleeping Beauty
First of all, I am really disappointed on this Cannes Film Festival 2011 nominee. The concept is intriguing albeit it is not original as it seems. It revolves around the peculiar working student, played by the stunning Emily Browning, who easily gives in to her emotional and sexual drives and someone who literally and metaphorically fucks the norms. Those angles of her character makes her...

lau-ra-sau-rus: i felt like this version, more than the swedish film or even the book, really forces the viewer to reckon with stieg larsson’s original title in swedish, which is “men who hate women”.  Oh, interesting!
